Samsung introduced its Galaxy AI suite of features with the Galaxy S24 series in 2024 and later expanded it to 2023 flagships through a software update. The company will also expand the software to select older models.
There are many generative features in Galaxy AI, which enable you to create visual experiences, while Generative Edit lets you make powerful edits to images and videos with just a touch of a button. The Generative Wallpapers is similarly noteworthy.
The Generative Wallpapers feature lets you create artificial intelligence-based wallpapers simply by selecting some keywords. Samsung and Google's software will take those keywords and put out striking and unique wallpapers.
The wallpapers that it creates are divided into nine distinct themes, namely: Imaginary, Night, Painting, Terrain, Mineral, Luminous, Soft-focus, Translucent, and Bloom.
The keywords are predefined for each theme so while you can't input custom keywords, you can choose a mix of these predefined keywords to create unique wallpapers.
The Generative Wallpapers feature is enabled by default. You just need to follow the steps highlighted below to access this feature:
It's important to note that you must set a wallpaper that you've generated to your device before you generate a new one, otherwise it's possible that you may never be able to see it again.
If you want to save it for later, you must set the wallpaper you've generated. Otherwise, it will be replaced when you generate a new wallpaper and likely lost forever.
All Samsung phones that have Galaxy AI support Generative Wallpapers.
