Why One UI 4.1.1 might offer the best Galaxy tablet UX to date

It hasn't been that long since Samsung released One UI 4.1.1, but the latter has quickly become one of my favorite Samsung software releases of all time — at least as far as Galaxy tablets are concerned. One UI 4.1.1 changed almost everything about how I approach my Galaxy tablet. The new version of One UI seemingly achieved the impossible and made the existing Multi-Window feature an integral component of my daily user experience.

Samsung achieved this partly because of the new taskbar introduced with One UI 4.1.1 for large-screen devices. Likewise, its efforts towards pushing Multi-Window more at the forefront of the user experience through better shortcuts and ease of access have gone a long way. We recently shared a couple of in-depth overviews of the taskbar and Multi-window features, but in short, these new One UI 4.1.1 additions have brought an unprecedented level of mobile multitasking and desktop-like usability to Galaxy tablets and the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Multitasking finally takes charge of the Galaxy tablet experience

Thanks to the new taskbar and multi-window options, it's never been easier to create pairs of multi-window apps, launch apps in split-screen mode, and switch between apps or app pairs.

It's probably more efficient to show you how all these One UI 4.1.1 features come together for an improved user experience. The takeaway is that firing up Multi-Window apps no longer feels like a burden. The feature is highly accessible in One UI 4.1.1. It's never been easier to launch , manage, and switch between pairs of apps, and some of my favorite pairs are:

Pinterest + Sketchbook for drawing with references
Spotify + Chrome / Internet for listening to music while reading lyrics
YouTube + Noteshelf or Samsung Notes for jotting down ideas or recipes
YouTube / Netflix + Chess and other board games for entertainment

Hopefully, Galaxy device users who may have given up on running split-screen apps a long time ago won't overlook these new One UI 4.1.1 additions. In my opinion, this is the first time Samsung got the idea of mobile multitasking truly right. And while there's always room for improvement, Multi-Window no longer seems like an afterthought.
