Samsung seems to be trying really hard to bring owners of older Galaxy Z Fold models to the present with enhanced trade-in offers attached to the latest Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The previous two models preceding the Galaxy Z Fold 6, i.e., the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, have trade-in values of $1,000 each.
But perhaps more astonishing is that the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which went on sale in 2021, isn't that far off from the maximum trade-in value possible. The Fold 3 is now valued at $900 through Samsung's trade-in program — $100 short of the highest value.
Even original Galaxy Fold owners can trade the 2019 phone for a $300 discount on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, while Galaxy Z Fold 2 owners wanting to upgrade can get a $600 price cut.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 sports the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, AMOLED screens that can peak at 2,600 nits of brightness, a total of five cameras, one of which hides behind the foldable screen, and a slim 5.6mm body that is IP48-rated for dust and water resistance.
Although the Galaxy Z Fold 6 ships with Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1, Samsung is already beta testing One UI 7 for the device, and the stable version shouldn't be far behind. Samsung will support the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a total of seven major Android updates.
