We've got our hands on the latest internal One UI 8 beta build.

We've been testing the internal One UI 8 builds for a few weeks now and all signs point to the One UI 8 beta program launching sooner rather than later. We have tested one of the latest builds and it still doesn't bring much in the way of significant upgrades.
That's to be expected, as One UI 8 doesn't seem to be a very significant update to begin with. It begs the question, though, is Samsung on the right track with this update? We discuss this in a lot more detail in a new video that's now up on our YouTube channel.
This latest One UI 8 beta build is just around 800MB, so the size is the biggest indication that there's no major changes here. However, when we installed one of the earlier builds, the Tips app didn't work, it does now. There's nothing there to write home about, though, except for a banner that will ultimately let beta tests submit their feedback.
It's been a tumultuous year for Samsung as the One UI 7 launch didn't go as smoothly as it would have hoped. One UI 8 has the potential to get things back on track for the company, particularly as it would also bring Android 16, the latest version of Google's operating system.
Samsung would previously release significant One UI updates later in the year which also meant that Galaxy device owners would get the new Android versions very late. One UI 8 release would be in line with Android 16 being made available, and that's something users will appreciate.
The company is on the right track, but it needs to absolutely nail this launch. There shouldn't be any issues once the stable One UI 8 starts rolling out, and no repeat of the release uncertainty that we saw with One UI 7. Will it play out exactly like this? Only time will tell.
