Samsung has released the stable One UI 7.0 (Android 15) update for the Galaxy Tab S9 series. The update is currently available in South Korea and could expand to other countries and regions in the coming days. The new software was also released to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24 FE, and the Galaxy Tab S10 series earlier today.
The Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra have started (via @tarunvats33) getting the stable Android 15 and One UI 7.0 update in South Korea. The update comes with the firmware versions listed below. It has a download size of over 5GB and includes the April 2025 security patch.
If you have a Galaxy Tab S9 series device, you can check for the One UI 7 update on your tablet by opening the Settings app, scrolling down to Software update, and tapping Download and install. Once the new firmware is available in our database, you can download it and flash it manually if you are well-versed in the manual firmware flashing process.
The new update could be released to the Galaxy Tab S9 series in other countries and regions in the next few days or weeks.
One UI 7.0 is a major design refresh. It has new app icons, separate pages for notifications and Quick Panel, and smoother animations and transitions. The battery icon is new and so are the charging animations. Samsung has improved the widget styling and added a lot of new widgets for the home screen and the lock screen. Widgets have new customization options as well.
The update also brings new and improved Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy Tab S9 series. You can add or remove labels from app icons and widgets. Lock screen clock's customization options have also been improved. The Settings app now has natural language search.
Gemini is now the default voice assistant on the Galaxy Tab S9 series and you can summon it by long pressing the power button. Modes and Routines have also received new features. You can automatically hide the taskbar. The Camera app has also received a desing makeover, featuring all the camera options and settings towards the bottom part of the screen (when holding the device in portrait orientation).
