Samsung updates Galaxy S21 with March 2025 security patch

Samsung has released a software update to the Galaxy S21 series in South Korea. It offers the March 2025 security patch.

There are less than ten days remaining for Samsung to start rolling out Android 15-based One UI 7.0 to eligible devices. However, right before that, the brand released an update to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. It offers the March 2025 security patch, which fixes 58 security issues. Samsung is offering the latest software update to only the South Korean variants of the three phones, which have model numbers SM-G991N, SM-G996N, and SM-G998N, respectively, at the moment. The new firmware for these phones carries versions G991NKSS8GYC1, G996NKSS8GYC1, and G998NKSS8GYC1.

We expect Samsung to release the new update to other variants of the Galaxy S21 series in the next few days. To get it, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. As for One UI 7.0, while Samsung has delayed rolling it out by quite a lot, you may find the wait to be worth it, as the new software offers a totally redesigned user interface, many new features, and smoother animations that will make your device feel faster as well. The brand will start rolling it out on 7 April 2025 in select regions.
